WANIN International Acquires 35.69% Stake in Vieshow Cinemas, Adding Theatrical Exhibition to Its Pan-Entertainment Landscape

In June 2024, WANIN International acquired a 35.69% stake in Vieshow Cinemas for approximately NT$1.249 billion, becoming its largest shareholder. The transaction added cinema exhibition to WANIN’s pan-entertainment portfolio and expanded its presence in Taiwan’s physical entertainment market.

Vieshow Cinemas operates one of Taiwan’s most established cinema networks. The investment expanded WANIN’s presence in theatrical exhibition, complementing its digital entertainment activities and creating new opportunities for content promotion, audience engagement, and collaboration across its pan-entertainment businesses.

The transaction broadened WANIN’s role across the film value chain, from content financing and distribution to cinema operations. It also supported closer connections between entertainment content, physical venues, and digital services, contributing to WANIN’s development of a more integrated and consumer-focused pan-entertainment business.
